New Midhurst Sainsbury's store opens

Sainsbury’s has opened a new neighbourhood hub store in Midhurst, one of only three in the country.

The store will provide a 'wide range of popular everyday essentials' and 'some exciting new features', including an Argos collection point.

According to Sainsbury’s property director Patrick Dunne, the store will be a 'fantastic asset to Midhurst' and will give customers and 'fresh, convenient and safe one-stop shop experience'.

He added: "We’ve been overwhelmed by the support of the local community since we announced our plans to open a new Neighbourhood Hub store in Midhurst.

"I thank everyone who has worked hard to get this store open and I really appreciate the patience of the community during our refurbishment works."

Simon Hardaker, store manager said: “The store looks fantastic and we’re delighted to open the doors and meet our new customers.

"The team is really looking forward to getting to work.”

The store is 'approximately three times the size' of a Sainsbury’s Local and also includes an Argos and Tu clothing collection point for customers to collect their technology, clothing, home and toy products.

A spokesperson said: "The new store includes a large selection of fresh food and ready meals, plus a fresh juice and coffee to go station alongside locally tailored clothing, seasonal and general merchandise and will trade from 7am-8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sundays.

"The local Sainsbury’s team is also looking forward to supporting the community in addition to playing its part in the retailer’s nationwide community programmes and charity partners.

"Last week Sainsbury’s announced a £5 million investment towards community support, which includes a £1 million pot for stores to contribute to local charities and good causes."
