Ultimately, the development - now called Mowbray - will include 2,750 homes. A new school has already opened on the site.

The supermarket has said that it plans to offer a full range of fresh food including its ‘market street’ with specialist butchers, bakers and fishmongers.

Around 190 new local jobs are expected to be created.
