That’s the message going out this week from Horsham District Council which is urging people to ‘buy local’ in a bid to support local businesses during lockdown and beyond.

The council has developed a new animation to highlight the investment shoppers make to the district’s economy every time they choose to buy from a local independent business.

Council cabinet member for the local economy Paul Clarke said: “As a council we are really pleased that people seem to have rediscovered our local shops and markets during the crisis.

“The council is playing its part to keep the ‘buy local’ message front of mind for shoppers as our local traders lie at the heart of our community.

“Every time you buy local you are supporting a whole network of local people behind the scenes.

“We all need to support traders in the way that many of them have gone to extraordinary lengths to support us in recent months. Please ‘Buy Local’ in Horsham District.”
