An Eastbourne business has been raided by police today (Thursday) in connection with coronavirus related issues.

Officers visited Boss Gym in Brampton Road on the Harvington Business Park shortly before 1pm and are reported to have found four people inside – in an alleged breach of Covid-19 restrictions, which prevent non-essential businesses from opening.

One man has been driven away in a police car.

Officers executed a warrant at the premises in relation to fraud and allegations that Covid-19 grant support money had been claimed from Eastbourne council while the gym business remained open.
