Perch restaurant in Princes Park, on Royal Parade, currently serves as a breakfast and brunch restaurant, but it is hoping to change that next month when lockdown restrictions are gradually lifted for the hospitality industry.

The government road map allows outdoor hospitality to resume on April 12 and indoor service reopens on May 17.

Open since March last year, the site has been serving takeaway food and drink through its kiosk throughout three lockdowns and changing restrictions.

Owner Alex Hole thanked customers for their support on social media.

He said, “Your support has humbled us during the lockdown, and hopefully people have got a taste of what we are about and the venue we are aspiring to be.

“We are so excited about exploring our venue in Eastbourne; expanding our hours allows us to recruit a larger team.

“When we took on the cafe, we had four full-time equivalent staff and we hope to expand the team to 35 this summer alone.

“The hope is that we can continue to develop a quality-driven food-based offer.”

He said he hopes the business can also move into catering for weddings and parties in the future too.

Alex also owns Perch on Lancing Beach and he’s currently refurbishing the Southern Pavilion on Worthing Pier to create another restaurant too.

Members of the public can comment on the application until April 13.
