The site at Grove Road has been listed for sale following approved planning permission for the refurbishment and extension of the building into 50 flats in 2020.
The Milestone Group is managing the sale of the site with an asking price of £3,500,000.
The approved plans stated that the development of the former police station will be facilitated by a roof extension (fourth floor) to the existing police station building and a mansard roof extension facing Grove Road, to provide 31 flats over five floors within the refurbished part of the site.
The development also proposes the demolition of the more modern rear addition to the building to provide a further 19 flats over a five floor extension.
The plans were met with 26 letters of objection to Eastbourne Borough Council and two letters of support.
A spokesperson for the Milestone Group said: “The Grove Road elevation will be sensitively restored with new steel windows, preserving its architectural contribution to the streetscape.
“The existing building will feature recessed balconies and enlarged window openings, merging classic design with contemporary functionality.
"A thoughtfully designed extension will replace a dilapidated later addition, making excellent use of the available space to the east of the site and maximizing development potential.
"This refurbishment and extension project offers a unique investment opportunity, providing the chance to own a piece of Eastbourne's history while benefiting from modern upgrades. The planned 50 new residential apartments are designed to appeal to a wide range of potential residents, ensuring a high demand for this prime real estate."
