Haywards Heath pubs welcome back customers for outdoor service

Outdoor hospitality is now allowed under the government’s ‘roadmap’ for reopening society after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Lockhart Tavern in The Broadway, Haywards Heath had stopped its delivery service for a week to prepare for its reopening.

Hide AdNow it plans to serve food and drink outside every day in a covered and heated area.
Staff said there would be hot water bottles and blankets available if customers wanted them.
A message on the pubs’s Facebook page said: “A huge thank you to everyone that supported us over the past 12 months and we look forward to welcoming you back.”
It is recommended that diners call the pub to book a place on 01444 440696 or book online at www.thelockharttavern.co.uk.

Hide AdThe Star, a traditional high street pub in The Broadway, has 108 seats under cover in its beer garden, which is now open for food and drinks.

The beer garden of the Burrell Arms is also open today to serve food and drink outside.
The pub in Commercial Square has 116 seats with about 30 of them under cover and has an outside TV showing Sky Sports.
Landlord Nigel Bean said: “The whole team is excited to be back and we’re looking forward to welcoming new and old customers.”

Hide AdThe Burrell Arms also has part-time job opportunities for bar and kitchen staff.
Experience is not essential but people who are interested are asked to see a member of staff for an application form or call 01444 719702.
Customers are advised to book a place online and are asked to use the NHS Track and Trace app.
The Beech Hurst Harvester in Beechurst Gardens also has a large beer garden.
