The popular business exhibition, organised by Horsham District Council, took place at Horsham’s Drill Hall on Saturday March 9 and proved to be another extraordinarily successful event with 41 exhibitors, eight free business seminars and over 500 visitors.

Many of the visitors completed feedback forms, enabling event organisers to build on and shape future events.

Visitors who completed a form were entered into a free prize draw with the chance of winning one of many fantastic prizes, such as a day’s worth of business support from Smart Biz Solutions, an IT training course from Horsham Training Centre and signed copies of her best selling books by marketing expert Dee Blick.

Roger Paterson, Horsham District Council’s cabinet member for the local economy, said: “Many congratulations to Horsham’s small business community for making Microbiz such a huge success again this year.

“It is particularly encouraging to hear so many exhibitors saying how much they benefited from the event in business terms - and also how much they enjoyed taking part.”

Horsham Microbiz 2013 was sponsored by Citibase plc, Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership, Dee Blick of The Marketing Gym, Federation of Small Businesses, Foundry Press Ltd, Horsham District Council, Horsham Publications Ltd, Horsham Training Centre, Spofforths chartered accountants, The District Post, University of Chichester, West Sussex County Council and West Sussex County Times.

Helen Sheath, owner of Jazz Club, a before and after school club based at Jolesfield Primary School in Partridge Green, said: “This was my first experience of Microbiz, thoroughly enjoyed it, very useful, very helpful.

“I especially liked meeting the representative from the HMRC and she gave me lots of tips for the coming year and I will definitely be coming back next year.”

Chris Cooper, from Seofon Business Services, said: “It was our first year at Microbiz this year. We’ve met lots of potential clients and a lot of other exhibitors, all of whom are really useful.

“We’re looking to come back next year, hopefully to contribute to a seminar if there’s one available. But we’re looking forward to another opportunity to take part in 2014.”
