Tony and Glynis Buddle, who opened Spuddles at St Martin’s Street in February after acquiring the site on New Year’s Day, said things haven’t gone to plan due to the impact of roadworks and the coronavirus pandemic.
The couple, who were only able to run the café for five weeks before non essential businesses had to close, will instead focus their attention on their Little London Tea Shop in Pagham.
Tony said: “We decided to take on the café in Chichester as a new venture back in January.

“We totally gutted it and redecorated and purchased lots of items such as a dedicated potato oven, chiller, fridges and freezer.
“Since then we have also refurbished our wonderful tea shop both inside and out and bought new equipment and furniture and also had new flooring put down, due to this and realising how much we like Little London we decided we cannot run two establishments so have sadly decided to sell Spuddles.
“Anyone who purchases this cafe could literally purchase all necessary foodstuff and start trading straight away, once allowed of course.”
