Plans for six more homes on Squab Lane in the village of Magham Down have been submitted to Wealden District Council.

The plans include five two-bed detached bungalows and one three-bed detached chalet bungalow.

Currently the land is used for grazing animals and is an already residential area, with houses surrounding the land from all sides and a public footpath running along the north side of the plot of land, according to the plans.

Planners say the development would contribute to the local economy and has been designed in a ‘very sensitive way’ to help avoid visual impact on neighbours and so it is in keeping with the surroundings through a ‘contemporary design approach in traditional materials’.

According to the plan, the bungalows will be arranged in a courtyard layout and will feature open plan kitchen/living/dining areas with bi-folding doors out to the garden.

All bedrooms will be doubles and the chalet bungalow will have the master bedroom on the upper floor with an ensuite, a walk-in wardrobe and eaves storage.

Members of the public can comment on the application until March 5 by going to the Wealden District Council website.
