New block of flats for Eastbourne set to be approved

A five storey block of 19 flats looks set to be built on the site of a council car park in Eastbourne town centre.

Planners are recommending an application by Eastbourne council to redevelop the Southfields Road car park site, which the authority owns, be approved at a meeting next week.

The development, says the council, would provide a mix of one and two bedroom apartments and two bedroom wheelchair accessible flats and provide good quality affordable housing.

The meeting is next Tuesday.
