Scheduled to open later this year, the superstore on the Ferring/Angmering border, will provide 540 jobs, 180 full-time.

Also due for completion before Christmas are expansion plans for the Morrisons store in Newland Street, Worthing.

The gross floor area is being enlarged from 54,218sq ft to 67,877sq ft, with the project providing a café on the store’s southern flank, and a 25 per cent increase in the retail sales area (to 34,918sq ft) on Morrisons’ eastern side.

Parking spaces will be reduced by 48 to to 326, to accommodate the extensions.
