A central reservation is currently being created between Cophall roundabout and Polegate junction. The work is part of a £75m project to reduce congestion. In addition the roundabout at Drusillas has been removed as it will eventually be reinstated and made larger “to improve traffic flow along the A27”. A new shared cycle and footpath from Drusillas roundabout to join the existing path from Berwick station will also be created and will connect with a planned shared cycleway and footpath from Polegate to Firle. This work is expected to be completed by January 2022.
