Popular East Sussex village pub announces that it will be put up for sale

A popular pub in a village in East Sussex has announced that it will be put up for sale.

The Wheatsheaf Inn in Willingdon’s owner Karen Clapton announced that she will be leaving the pub and the establishment will be listed on the market.

The pub has proved popular with customers, garnering 4.6 stars out of five from 439 Google reviews.

Karen said: “I wanted to put a message out to let you all know that me and my family are leaving the wheatsheaf, it will officially be on the market this week.

“It’s been a very tough and emotional decision because it’s such a fantastic pub, with brilliant staff and even better customers.

“Since taking over the Wheatsheaf I’m very proud to say that I put my everything into it, financially, emotionally and physically. But by gosh it’s been worth every second.

“The Wheatsheaf has gone from strength to strength and it deserves to continue with fresh energy and vision and I plan to pass the baton over with positivity and happy memories.

“I don’t have an exact date of my departure but when I do, be sure we will have a big party.”

“It’s been a blast and I will leave with new friends, very fond memories and a huge sense of pride.

“My mum and uncle have been here with me since day 1, I’m so truly grateful to them, but it’s time they retired and put their feet up and I treat them

“Cheers to the Wheatsheaf and here’s to new ventures, health wealth and happiness.”
