Spofforths raise vital funds for children with cerebral palsy

Professionals from Spofforths’ Horsham office visited the Trust office in Five Oaks, on Wednesday January 23, to find out how the funds will be of benefit to children and their families.

The funds were raised in October 2012, as the Dame Vera Lynn Trust took part in a Will Writing Week with the support of Spofforths.

The firm agreed to offer a number of free appointments during the week to help people make or update their Will. Instead of a fee clients were asked to make a donation to the Trust.

Carole Whorwood the Marketing and Appeals Officer for the Trust said: “We are extremely grateful to Spofforths Private Client Services for all their hard work and support during the Will Writing Week.

“It is wonderful to have Spofforths as a corporate partner and they have supported us in many different ways; taking part in our sponsored challenges and attending fundraising events.

“All funds raised will be put to good use by the Trust as we work in partnership with families to educate young children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties.

“In West Sussex, we have a specialist School for Parents and all of the services we offer are provided free of charge.

“We receive no statutory funding and rely entirely on the support of the community to help raise the £650,000 needed to ensure that this vital service can continue.”

Philip Lansberry, director of Spofforths Private Client Services, added: “Will Writing week was a great success and we are delighted that our fundraising efforts will be of real benefit to children with cerebral palsy and their families.

“It was a pleasure to visit the Trust office and find out more about the School for Parents, where families and children learn daily living skills together.”
