Stockers' tops as newsagent picks up another prize

Having just been named Independent Magazine Retailer of the Year by the National Federation of Retail Newsagents (NFRN), Michelle and John Stocker’s Newsmart shop in Western Road has now collected another brace of accolades from the Federation, recognising regional excellence.

One of the certificates handed to the couple in the past week has been the NFRN’s Cadbury Award for Confectionery Display, highlighting the shop’s impressive range of sweets and chocolates.

Michelle said: “We’ve been fortunate to win several awards since we took over the shop six years ago, though oddly never anything local to Bexhill itself.

“We’re always trying to think of ways to enhance and improve the business, and it’s very gratifying to have those efforts recognised and applauded by other retailers.”
