Sussex businesses to get connected

A NEW networking club wants Sussex businesses to get connected at an upcoming event in Brighton.

The Platinum Club, developed by The Grand Hotel in conjunction with Jenerator Creative, is designed to be an ‘effective and enjoyable evening’ of peer to peer networking.

The next event will take place at the Grand Hotel on Thursday September 29 at 6:30pm.

“We are keen to attract businesses from all over Sussex to the benefits of the club and offer the opportunity for companies from all areas of Sussex to meet and do business,” said a club spokesperson.

“Sussex is one of the leading business areas in the UK and networking events such as The Platinum Club will ensure that the county remains at the top of the league.”

Founding members include Coutts Bank, Mercedes and Sussex Cricket Club.

The first meeting was in May 2011 and the club is gaining an average of six new members per month.

Events take the form of an informal champagne & canapé reception with attendees free to mingle.

No presentations, speeches, sponsors or seated meals are allowed to ensure the evening is an informal party, where regular introductions are made throughout the evening.

Platinum is attracting a range of smaller influential Sussex companies, with each business represented by a director or senior partner.

Membership comes with a range of perks such as priority use of a brand new 42 foot Bavaria Yacht moored in Brighton Marina.

In 2012, the club will be hosting a selection of away days to events including Glorious Goodwood, a Formula 1 race and a cricket match at Sussex Cricket Club.
