Tax adviser appointed auditors by high school

A Steyning business, tax and charity adviser has been appointed by Worthing High School’s governing body as its auditors and advisers.

As part of the tender process, which involved 12 other accountancy firms, Russell New, based in Steyning, ‘demonstrated empathy for Worthing High’s ethos and values’ and will work with the Academy to ensure it focuses its resources effectively on the issues identified in the most recent Ofsted report.

It will help the school develop areas of success and stability over the next three years.

Mark Cummins, charities and education partner at Russell New, said: “We are delighted that Worthing High School has selected Russell New to work with them. Schools under charitable status, such as academies, are now highly regulated organisations, and we will assist the school in meeting its statutory obligations with regards to finance and auditing regulations.”
