A developer wants to build on the site which is currently accessible by way of a narrow access road located between 36 Broomfield Road and 65 Dillingburgh Road.

The land is behind the Broomfield Road address and a design and planning statement submitted with an application to Eastbourne council states there are 40 disused, partially occupied or dilapidated lock up garage units.

The proposal is for eight three bedroom semi-detached and two semi-detached two bedroom houses with rear gardens together with provision at the front of each property for car parking spaces.

It is intended to form a new 4.8m wide access estate road, with hammer head turning facility for all vehicles.

The design and planning statement also states, “The designs are of a semi contemporary nature.”

The proposal is currently being consulted on and anyone wishing to make any observations can do so on the council website.
