Three years after takeover, Andrew celebrates his new label as a Liveryman

APRIL is a month of double celebrations for the managing director of a Littlehampton label-printing business.

Andrew Scrimgeour has been “cloathed” as a Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers, in a traditional cloathing ceremony at Stationers’ Hall in the City of London.

The honour comes in the same month that his business, AJS Labels, of the Lineside Industrial Estate, marks the third anniversary of its re-birth, following its take-over by Andrew and his wife Jayne.

Supported by a committed workforce, they have turned round a loss-making business into a successful company which has received several awards at local and national level.

Andrew was previously a Freeman of the Stationers’ and Newspaper Makers’ Company, a City of London livery company with more than 800 members, the great majority of them senior executives in the communications and content industries. He is also a Freeman of the City of London.

AJS Labels is celebrating its third anniversary today with a fund-raising curry lunch, at which the special guest will be Fr Jeremias, from India, a priest running a charity supported by the company.

Other businesses on the industrial estate have been invited, too.
