Andrew said, “Many people did not realise he was the person responsible for creating huge poster advertising boards and posters around the Congress, Devonshire Park, Winter Gardens and Royal Hippodrome advertising all forthcoming shows and concerts, the various tennis tournaments, the popular Eastbourne Shows at Gildredge Park during the 80s and displays for the Curzon and Eastbourne Pier.

“He saw his clients such as Charles Tester, Norman Meadows and various theatre managers as his friends.

“He even was approached by Ronnie Corbett to sign write his name on his personal golf bag during one of the Eastbourne summer shows.

“The comedian Kenny Lynch purchased one of his paintings.

“His aircraft paintings were also regularly donated as raffle prizes during Airbourne raising money for the RAFA.

“In addition to his day job, he was also a regular musician during the sixties and seventies, a drummer in various dance bands and resident at the Queens Hotel in Eastbourne in The Queensmen, as they were known.

“I also recall him accompanying Maurice Gibb from the Bee Gees during a guest spot while playing residence for the then Crocodile restaurant in Dane Hill.”
