Two very ‘sick’ company directors

Once upon a time two brothers from Bexhill with a passion for BMX decided that the maxim for ‘doing some you love’ was to be taken very seriously. Accordingly, in 2003 Rich and Marc Moore launched their own business from a tiny shop down a side street in Bexhill. The Source was born.

With Rich armed with a business degree from Loughborough University and both brothers among the most accomplished riders in the country, the entrepreneurs set about creating a brand that would resonate within the BMX industry here and abroad.

Ten years later the Source is a go-to supplier of bikes, parts and accessories to both professional and amateur riders, distributing all across the UK and exporting to countries around the world. Both the Source website - www.sourcebmx.com - and their unique headquarters within a converted church in Braybrooke Terrace have become a mecca for BMX enthusiasts of all ages.

To mark their 10 years in business Rich and Marc are staging a FREE all day Bank Holiday BMX festival on May 5 at the De La Warr Pavilion.

Rich said:

“We’re looking forward to celebrating 10 years of the Source in our hometown at one of the most iconic venues on the south coast. We’ve held similar free events at the De La Warr and I’ve no doubt that this one will be similarly successful.

“We hope as many local people as possible will come along on May 5 to have-a-go or just watch some of our pro riders. There are activities planned for the whole Pavilion, including the rooftop ramps.”

During the day professional riders will be on hand to coach local riders, there will be opportunities to ride a back to front steer bike, spectacular stunts with commentary, a live DJ and all day screening of cult films in the theatre space.

“Whether you love BMXing or just fancy watching a few crazy people fly through the air on bikes, just turn up and enjoy sunshine, the stunts and music. This event is bigger and more ambitious than ones we’ve staged before reflecting the growing success of the Source and I hope the young and old will be there to share the day with us.”
