Witch's bid to summon Nessie with pirate radio

A WHITE witch plans to set up a pirate radio broadcast in a bizarre bid to summon the Loch Ness Monster.

Kevin Carlyon, of Dane Road, St Leonards will be creating his own broadcast by placing half a dozen radios around the banks of Loch Ness in Scotland in order to transmit 10 music hits which he believes will summon the spirit of the legendary monster.

The songs have yet to be chosen but all of them will have a monster theme tune and the paramornal researcher is after suggestions from the public.

Mr Carlyon said: “I believe the Loch Ness Monster that lives in the loch is a spirit and by transmitting via the radio waves, Nessie, which I believe is telepathic, will pick up on it and hopefully stir him into life.”

The broadcast will be on air at 106.8FM and its range will be 20 miles in each direction.

Mr Carlyon, 51, will be flying to Scotland at the end of the month to carry out his venture. His scheme has attracted interest from as far afield as Melbourne and Nova Scotia in Canada.

He said: “I don’t expect Nessie to appear immediately but I do expect sightings over the coming weeks and months.

“Nessie 106.8FM will be broadcasting in Scotland Halloween week and at Halloween weekend in Hastings as part of my ‘Hallofest’.

“I’m asking local readers to come up with spooky song suggestions for both broadcasts.

“I’m also in need of a local female DJ. No experience is needed but they need to have a good or quirky voice.”

Malcolm Robinson, local paranormal expert, was asked by film director Steven Spielberg in 1994 to work with him in tracking down Nessie.

He said: “I wish Kevin well and hope he is successful.”

Anyone with suggestions for songs can contact Mr Carlyon on 01424 444201 or 07738 682815 between 10am and 7pm or email him at [email protected]
