Wivelsfield permanent makeup trainer Katy Jobbins set for next appearance on Channel 5
Wivelsfield-based permanent makeup trainer Katy Jobbins is appearing on Rich House, Poor House Changed My Life this weekend.
The episode starts at 9pm on Channel 5 on Sunday (April 18).
Katy, the founder and head trainer of Permanent Makeup Training Academy, appeared in the final episode of life swap documentary Rich House, Poor House in May last year, having filmed it in February.
Titled ‘Laboutins & 20K in Debt’ Katy and her marketing expert husband Paul Bate, along with their three children, swapped lives with single mum Nadine Hill, a part-time hairdresser from Portsmouth on benefits.
In the episode Katy managed a budget of £86 to last a week and offered to train Nadine in permanent makeup for free.
“I really hoped back then that Nadine would give 100 per cent to her training with me, and she really did just that,” said Katy.
Nadine’s training was cut short in March by the first UK lockdown, but Katy and Nadine stayed in touch and now Nadine has set up her own permanent makeup clinic.
The new episode of Rich House, Poor House Changed My Life will follow Katy to meet Nadine where she earns around £250 per hour for her specialist skills.
Katy said it’s amazing how determined people can change their lives with the right guidance, training and support.
“I can honestly say that in my life I’ve had a lot of blessings, but this by far has been one of my biggest,” said Katy.
Nadine now holds a free clinic once a month for people with cancer undergoing chemotherapy, having been inspired by Katy’s offer of free treatments to cancer patients.
