Worthing reflexology business has the x-factor

HOT on the heels of success at the Worthing Business Awards, Debbie Stevens is celebrating gaining a national accolade.

The well-being events manager and reflexologist has seen her venture grow considerably over the past three years, attracting a range of clients seeking some pampering to relieve the stresses of the working day.

This has led to her being voted by customers for a Best Loved Alternative Therapy in the UK award from leading community website thebestof.co.uk

“I couldn’t quite believe that I’d won as there are 400 bestof websites around the country with everyone voting for their favourite companies. I’ve had so much positive feedback from all the girls who have attended my events and who have voted for me, which is quite amazing,” said Debbie, believing that a passionate approach to her work had been critical to her success to date.

She added: “Gaining this award is a bit of kudos and I now want to build on this with expanding the range of well-being treatment that we offer.”

Calling upon the expertise of a dozen professional therapists from across the area, her business has a broad base. It spans everything from organising girls’ nights out, corporate wellbeing sessions assisting staff in their workplace, to more recent events with schools and Worthing Hospital nursing staff. Such diversity has clearly offered a rewarding challenge.

By her own admission, it’s been a whirlwind experience since starting her venture from her family home in Northfield Road, Worthing, several years ago.

But with a full diary of events including pampering nights at Casa Ciro restaurant in Worthing and the Black Horse pub in Findon it seems there’s no stopping this forward-thinking company. It is seeking new event venues across the county in order to cope with demand.

She added: “Things have been going really well with the business. I really enjoy working with teenagers, which we were able to do at Worthing High School, where we did a pampering session with a life coach for staff and then did some reflexology with the children.

“We worked out a well-being programme for them to help them build their confidence.

I’m hoping we can do more work with schools as I want to be able to help tomorrow’s leaders to be more confident to help look and feel great and prepare for job interviews.”
