The award was presented to Bexhill In Bloom at the national awards ceremony held at the Manchester United Football Stadium and covered by BBC1's The One Show.
Royal Voluntary Service's Platinum Champion Lord Brett McLean who doubles as the President of Bexhill In Bloom alongside the Chairman of Rother District Council Cllr Richard Thomas travelled to Manchester to collect the Silver Gilt award.

The volunteers endless commitment, dedication, passion, drive and time collectively donated has been clearly noted by the Royal Horticultural Society's Britain In Bloom judges when they visited Bexhill-on-Sea hence the awarding of such a prestigious Silver Gilt Award.
Cllr Richard Thomas said " The backbone behind our wonderful achievement is the result of determination and dedication from the two Margaret's, Margaret Garcia and Margaret Lea and the rest of our volunteer team coupled with the excellent partnership working with other voluntary groups across the community, Rother District Council, Bexhill Town Council and IdVerde.
