As the festive season wraps up, if you’re clearing space to make way for exciting new gifts, Guild Care’s charity shops would welcome your good quality preloved items that are no longer needed.

Many of us also find ourselves with gifts that, while thoughtfully given, may not be quite the right fit. Rather than leave them to gather dust, if you can’t exchange them, why not let them make a difference to someone else’s life?

By donating unwanted presents and preloved items to Guild Care’s stores, you’ll help Worthing’s leading social care charity to raise funds to support older people and people with learning disabilities in the Worthing community.

From Friday, December 27, Guild Care’s 16 charity shops will be open as usual, ready to accept donations of high quality items. Whether it’s clothing, toys, books or homeware, every contribution helps to stock their shelves with sought after goods which could be someone else’s dream purchase.

Guild Care also has three Donation Centres - The Greenhouse, Worthing, and at Goring Road (Sea Place) & Woods Way in Goring on Sea. The Donation Centres make it even easier to drop off your contributions, from a single item to bags or boxes if you’re having a clear-out over the Christmas break.

Some of Guild Care’s 16 shops in Sussex will also be open on New Year’s Day, including the three Donation Centres, but it’s worth checking individual opening times at www.guildcare.org to avoid a wasted trip. From January 2, all Guild Care shops will return to their usual hours for shopping, browsing, and donating.

“Whether it’s donations of new or preloved items that are no longer wanted, we’d be delighted to receive them so they can be resold for someone else to enjoy and help support our charity services,” said Adam Rider, Retail & Home Care Director and Deputy CEO at Guild Care.

“Every good quality donation to our shops is really appreciated and helps the charity to do what we do best – supporting older people, people living with dementia, and children & adults with learning disabilities,” said Adams. “Your donation could give someone in need, a happier new year.”
