Membership of LBS is at an all time low. More members are needed if the society is to continue to put on one of the largest events of its kind in the county. The entire awesome event is organised by a small group of volunteers - we need your help!

For the past 72 years the Littlehampton Bonfire Society - a small group of volunteers - has planned, raised the funds necessary (a staggering nearly £35,000 this season) and executed this amazing event for the people of the town of LA.

If you are unfamiliar - on the last Saturday in October we put on a free traditional costumed torchlight parade, a huge bonfire on the green and an awesome firework display.

But membership is at an all time low. Every year volunteers come forward to help marshal - and that is vital work - we thank you if you are amongst the numbers! But many of the tasks needed bonfire week may only be done by members (for insurance reasons). And in recent years a surprisingly tiny number of members carry out a lot of these tasks - and it cannot carry on this way! We need help - we need more members!

NB All are welcome and there are also roles for persons of all ages and abilities within the society. But it is a simple fact that some of the tasks are physical and some of the work is carried out at night.
