80 students from Felpham Community College, accompanied by their dogs and FCC staff, took part in a charity sponsored dog walk on Tuesday 22nd October.

Students from a variety of year groups took part in the annual FCC event, which is a firm favourite in the calendar of fundraising events each year. Students and their furry friends completed the 10-mile walk over the course of the school day, walking from Felpham Community College to Middleton, to Aldwick and then back to Felpham.

Adam Francis, Head Student at FCC, commented:

“It was a lot of dogs! It was great for us to get out into the fresh air and promote health and wellbeing through exercise, as well as fundraising at the same time. The weather was pretty grim and we got soaked (way more than once!). There was no shelter for lunch or to sit down due to everything being wet, and the students were great at continuing anyway. The dogs were fab and it was a great sight to see us all along the promenade. We got lots of positive comments from the public as well which kept us going!

As a school community we are still voting for what charities we wish to support this academic year, the closing date is at the end of this week and then we will announce it – but thank you to all the students who took part and to everyone who has sponsored them. We are aiming to raise around £1200 which will be fantastic as a stand alone charity event, the first one for the school year.”
