Royal Voluntary Services Platinum Champion Lord Brett McLean was invited to the grand opening of St. Michael's Rest Home in Cooden Drive Bexhill on sea.

St. Michael's Rest Home based at 107, Cooden Drive in Bexhill on sea held a grand opening on Monday to celebrate the development of the care home by the latest purchase and infrastructure development of the neighbouring property of 105 Cooden Drive and transforming the properties into a centre of excellence for clients who have varying levels of Dementia.

To help celebrate the investment into this new facility the rest home hosted a guided tour, provided live entertainment and a BBQ and buffet lunch for residents, staff and special guests.

Balwinder Singh Khaira the proprietor of the rest home said: "It is important that we continue investing in our home for those that are vulnerable, by purchasing the neighbouring property we have been able to create additional resources for our residents and staff that are used and enjoyed daily."

Lord Brett McLean said: "I was delighted to view the St Michael's Rest Home and all its resources including the communal lounge, the indoor activities area and the wonderful wheelchair friendly gardens.

"It is clear to see that the owners right down to the staff are dedicated and passionate about the residents in their care."

Joining the Platinum Champion was Past Mayor of Bexhill Cllr Abul Azad who is the current Vice-Chairman of East Sussex County Council.
