Record numbers of Chichester High School students are heading off to study at Russell Group Universities despite the challenges surrounding grading this year.

Students have won places at universities including Kings, UCL and Warwick. Ishika Dutta was praised for her results, as she prepares to study Engineering at Cambridge University. Meanwhile more students gained Distinctions within the sports academy, with many taking up places at University to continue their passion for sport. A school spokesman said: “Today we had the privilege of welcoming our Year 13 students back into school for their long awaited results. We were aware that not all schools and Colleges were opening for results days, but for us it was important that we marked the importance of today and ensured we could work with our students and their families. This cohort of students have demonstrated a level of resilience that is truly amazing. As a group of young people they have supported each other, worked together and given our school community many years of joy and service. Throughout their time at CHS these students have taken part in fundraising, Duke of Edinburgh, Debating, CCF, been successful in gaining places on a variety of summer schools and prestigious work placements, as well as supporting across the school from sport to our SEN department. The results today reflected the hard work and commitment of these students. A truly special year group that will go on to do amazing things.”
