Brighton pupils dress up for school on World Book Day

Students at Brighton schools dressed up as their favourite book characters for World Book Day.

Costume choices included Willy Wonka from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Queen of Hearts from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, and various characters from Dr Seuss’ Cat in the Hat.

World Book Day is a registered charity which celebrates books, illustrators, and authors and encourages children and young people to read more.

An annual World Book Day celebration takes place across more than 100 countries and some young people choose to dress as their favourite literary character.
