Amberley First School children have an exciting new addition to their playing fields, a Red London Bus to provide a great reminder of last year’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics.

This beautiful and unique bus was handmade by the Camelia Botnar foundation to celebrate the Jubilee and was on display at the Ardingly Show. The bus was a major talking point for visitors coming complete with a silhouette of the Queen “on board” giving a Royal wave to passers-by

The parents and Friends of Amberley School (FASA) have purchased the bus for the school as both a fun and lasting reminder for the children of a very special year.

Headteacher Michelle Clifford said: “A huge thank you to FASA for presenting our school with such a fun addition to our play equipment in the grounds. It has been a huge hit with all the children and caused great excitement when it was installed. Our toddler group have also visited the bus and voted it brilliant fun. Thank you to those parents who took the time to organise its installation and ensure it was fit for purpose and also thanks to the Camelia Botnar Foundation for all their help and enthusiasm.”

The children, parents and teachers at Amberley School are delighted that the bus has taken a detour from its London route and made its final stop at Amberley.
