Horsham’s QEII School is on the shortlist to receive funding from the OneFamily Foundation Community Awards - now it needs people to go on line and vote for the scheme.

By logging on to www.foundation.onefamily.com, registering and voting for the QEII School’s soft play area for disadvantaged children project you could make a real difference. Fundraising has already begun for the project and a grant could see it become a reality much quicker.

With 85 pupils from the age of two to 19 now attending the Comptons Lane school, its current soft play area is in constant use and some of the equipment and lights are not working.

The school wants to create an area where the students who all have severe, profound or multiple learning difficulties feel safe to play, especially in wet weather and when they need to let off steam away from the classroom. Pupils will be able to learn to play as well as taking pleasure in exploring the brightly coloured new surroundings.

The OneFamily Foundation Community Awards provide awards of £5,000 and £25,000 for projects put forward by customers to improve their community.
