Creative Caitlyn crafts Climping’s future crest

IMAGINATIVE young minds in Climping have helped to draft the village’s new parish council logo.

Pupils at St Mary’s CofE Primary School, in Brookpit Lane, created plenty of colourful designs during the competition, set up between the school and Climping Parish Council, with about 40 entries contributed.

However, it was young Caitlyn Baird’s design which proved to be head and shoulders above the rest. The “thrilled” 10-year-old used well-known sites in the village as the inspiration for her picture, from the beach to its many fields.

The winner was announced by the parish council’s chairman, Terry Hockley, on Tuesday (September 11).
