March 4 is World Book Day - a day to celebrate books and reading all over the world.

Caroline Ansell was filmed reading the Giant Jam Sandwich book for children at Motcombe Infant School. The video will be shown to the children on Monday when they return to lessons after lockdown.

Mrs Ansell said, “As a former teacher, I know how the power of books can change lives and reading is absolutely key to learning and unlocking life’s opportunities.”

“I am delighted the children will be back in lessons on Monday and I hope they enjoy listening to the story as much as I enjoyed reading it for them – it’s fab.”

Motcombe headteacher Tracy Robinson said, “It was lovely of Caroline to give up her time to read a story for our children here at Motcombe.

“World Book Day is an exciting day for the children who love to dress up and they will be very excited to know that an MP has made a video especially for them.”
