Felpham Community College prom

Students in Felpham celebrated the end of their school days with a touch of glamour and a lot of glitz.

A parade of vintage cars, limousines, a Vespa, a milk float and even a double-decker bus ensured Year 11 students from Felpham Community College arrived at their prom in style.

In their glamorous dresses and suave suits, the 170 pupils attended the New York-themed party held at the college.

The evening, on July 1, was a celebration of all the hard work the students had completed over the past five years to gain their GCSE qualifications.

With the exams over and results not being released until later this summer, the evening was a perfect way for the students to relax and look forward to the summer holidays.

Pupil Sarah Gray said: “It was a really special way to celebrate the end of our exams and the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.

“The boys looked surprisingly smart and obviously the girls had put months of thought into every last detail.

“It was a brilliant evening and I had a wonderful time,” added the 16-year-old.

The prom king and queen were Callum Aldous and Emma Simpson.

Jodie Brazil scooped the best dress award and kilt-wearing Sammy Aitken won the best-dressed male award.

Year 11 student Claire Dick and Becky Dick, a Year 13 pupil, helped with the organisation and setting-up of the prom with members of staff.
