Felpham students put to the test by Army's training challenge

STUDENTS from Felpham rose to the challenge at an army training day.

The Year 12 students from Felpham Community College were put to the test by the army recruiting team at the Baker Barracks on Thorney Island during the summer holidays.

The day saw the students eagerly take part in training activities thrown at them by the recruitment officers despite the wet, and cold conditions.

Sergeant Gordon Watson from the army recruiting team said: “The students from Felpham Community College have been the most enthusiastic and well-behaved students we have taught this month.”

Pupils also took part in problem-solving exercises including the legendary gun run.

Head teacher Mark Anstiss said: “This has been an invaluable day for the two teams of students who took part. We will definitely be doing something similar on campus next year.”
