Footpath closure would free up pitches for school

Councillors are expected to agree to apply to close a footpath south of Tanbridge House School to enable the handover of new school pitches.

North Horsham County Local Committee (CLC) will be prioritising a number of traffic schemes when they meet on Monday March 11 2013.

The Committee will be asked to approve their Traffic Regulation Order priorities for 2013-14, and also the Stopping Up of an area of footpath to the south of Tanbridge School.

The school has been suggested as a possible site for a running track following the closure of the track at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre and the order would enable the handover of new school pitches, along with the provision of a new cycle path.

Authorisation by the CLC is required to enable a Stopping Up application to be made to the Magistrates Court.

Chairman Brad Watson OBE said: “The key findings of the West Sussex Flood Investigation Report relating to the North Horsham area will be presented to the Committee for discussion, and we will be considering the latest round of applications for Community Initiative Funding.

“The fund provides grants for local projects that benefit our community and although this is the final round for the current financial year, I would encourage organisations to start applying now to be considered in the coming year.”
