Lindfield students are top achievers at Ardingly College

Lindfield students Will Durkin and Geoffrey Lawrence were among the star performers at Ardingly College.

Sixty-four of the private school’s students sat A Levels to add to the top International Baccalaureate results achieved by the other 41 sixth formers in July.

Overall, the A Level cohort achieved 66 per cent of all grades at A*-B.

Pupils performed particularly well in Languages and 100 per cent of students gained A*-A in German, Greek, Italian, Russian and Turkish.

100 per cent of students gained A* -B in Further Maths, Geography, Music, Spanish and Chinese.

Maths and Sciences produced excellent results with Sussex students Geoffrey Lawrence and Raffaella Freeman both achieving three A*s: Raffaella is going to study Chemistry at UCL and Geoffrey will be starting Medicine at King’s College, London in September.

Geoffrey, who comes from Lindfield, said: “I am really happy with my results and really excited to be going on to London. I want to thank Ardingly for helping me to get on so well and for giving me the opportunity to make so

many good friends along the way.”

Oxbridge successes include Will Durkin, also from Lindfield, who will be studying English Language and Literature at Exeter College, Oxford.

Head Boy Leo Ko achieved 3 A*s and 2 As. Leo, who has also been the Electronics Manager of Ardingly College’s Solar Car team, is heading for UC Berkley to study Engineering.

Director of Studies Jamie Large said: “Teachers and pupils alike should be extremely proud of the results of their hard work. Congratulations are due not only to those with the highest grades in both the IB Diploma and A Levels, but to everyone who has done their individual best and achieved their own full potential.

“In addition to these excellent A level results our students have achieved their best ever set of AS Level results”.
