Littlehampton Nursery set for fresh lease of life

The existing nursery, which is located on the older part of the former Littlehampton Community School’s building, will be demolished when the new Littlehampton Academy facilities are ready for occupation after the summer holidays.

However, plans are at an advanced stage to move the nursery school to a site south of the new academy building and very close to its current location.

Housed in its new, purpose-built accommodation, the nursery will continue to be accessed from Elm Grove Road.

A planning application will be submitted to Arun District Council in a matter of weeks and work will start on site in the summer, with the new facilities ready by the autumn term.

The nursery, which is registered for 43 children, will move a short distance across the site, resulting in minimal disruption.

Jayne Dimmock and Christina Hother, joint nursery managers, welcomed the move and said they were very excited about the future.
