Lyminster Primary School celebrates as new buildings open

AFTER months of banging and clanging, the first set of school buildings for the newly-opened Lyminster Primary School have finally been unveiled.

Pupils and teachers at the school, formerly known as Lyminster Infant School, are delighted with the finished extension, which is the first phase of a £2m redesign, that began in February.

The school now sports two new classrooms, as well as a new medical room, special needs area and a room dedicated to group work.

A new playground and covered play area has also been built for the school’s youngest pupils.

School business manager, Kim Jones, said: “Staff, parents and children are very proud of our new school.

“The new building has been built in keeping with the original school and looks fantastic.

“The new extension has two new classrooms which are spacious and light, giving a bright and happy environment for learning.”

Work on phase two of the building project, to create a new hall for the school, has already begun and is scheduled to be completed in January.
