MP Mims Davies invited to Burgess Hill Girls' Tomorrow's Women conference

Burgess Hill Girls have invited Mims Davies to speak at their upcoming conference.

The event, organised by members of the sixth form, will see local women from all walks of life and fields of work talk on how they 'rise above the challenges they might face and lead us all to a better future'.

Free tickets are available for all school pupils in Sussex, and limited places are also available for parents.

Speakers at this year’s conference will include Mims Davies, MP for Mid Sussex; Danielle Brown MBE, Paralympic gold medalist; Jo Shiner, deputy chief constable of Sussex Police, Jo Shiner; Naomi Muston, Barclays Eagle Labs ecosystem manager; andClare Griffiths, founder of The Thrive Effect, a membership organisation for female founders and women in business.

Attendees at the event will also have the opportunity to network with their peers and the speakers.

The Tomorrow’s Women conference has been designed and managed by Sixth Formers at Burgess Hill Girls in its entirety - pupils have been involved in every aspect of the conference, from deciding the format, to selecting speakers and marketing the event.

Leisha Limbachia, a sixth form student at Burgess Hill Girls, said: "The experience has been invaluable.

"Organising the Tomorrow's Women conference has taught me vital communication and networking skills which I can use in the future. It has also been a lot of fun.”

The conference will take place at Burgess Hill Girls from 4.30pm-7pm on Friday, March 6.
