Rustington children show off their Easter creations

Dozens of imaginative egg models and sculptures were created by inventive children from across the school, as part of its Easter activities .

And it proved to be a highly topical contest, with the Queen’s diamond jubilee and the Olympic Games featuring prominently.

Parents were walked around the various displays by some of the proud pupils, during a special, end-of-term exhibition inside the school’s hall.

Eight-year-old Anthony Kononova-Brown was one of the excited youngsters showing off his Olympic-themed design.

He said that he enjoyed taking part in the project, adding; “I love the Olympic mascot and wanted to create it with my egg and show it to all my friends.”

Sam Spillett, six, whose jubilee-inspired design won him the title of top “eggsmith” for his age category, said he couldn’t wait for the celebrations in June marking the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.

All the winners from the various categories were presented with a special Easter egg, by members of the school’s parent teacher association.

Head teacher, Bill Molloy, said he was “immensely impressed” by the youngsters’ impressive creations.
