Rye College confirms Covid-19 cases

A secondary school in Rye has confirmed three more cases of Covid-19 since Sunday (November 15).

Rye College, in The Grove, Rye, has written to parents to confirm on Sunday, Wednesday and today (Thursday, November 19) to confirm more cases of the virus.

The school also confirmed a positive test among its community in September.

In each email, the school confirmed a single case of Covid-19 and said small numbers of students were being told to isolate.

The letters were sent by Dom Downes, the head of the college.

The school remains open for all other students who were not told to isolate, as long as they are not showing any symptoms.

Rye College is the latest education provider in the area to confirm cases of Covid-19.

Bexhill Academy has closed today and tomorrow after a rise in cases. The school will be cleaned before students can return.
