Schools benefit from Tesco giveaway

SCHOOLS from across the county gathered at Tesco in Broadbridge Heath to receive products from MP Francis Maude on Friday September 16.

The nationwide scheme is now in its 20th year, and enables UK schools and clubs to redeem vouchers from Tesco purchases for everything from iMacs to drum kits and garden tools to tennis rackets.

Shoppers in the local area received vouchers over a ten week period which they donated to a school or club of their choice.

Schools from Southwater, Warnham and Broadbridge Heath were amongst those benefiting from a catalogue of equipment with the aim of better educating children.

Over 40,000 schools and clubs across the country have signed up to take part in the programme.

Last year Tesco gave away over 430,000 items worth a staggering £9.3 million.
