Seaford College student gets equivalent of eight A grades

But the college’s most outstanding student was Christina Gladkova, who attained 5A* grades, 1A and a distinction in her Cambridge Pre-U examination, giving her a total of 965 UCAS points. (960 is the equivalent of eight A grades).

A delighted Christina, from the Czech Republic, has been offered a place at Trinity College, Cambridge, to read natural sciences.

The college’s results once again showed an improvement on previous years and it notched up a 100 per cent pass rate and an average of 320.5 points per candidate, just a slight increase on last year.

However, the number of A* and A grades were up by three per cent to 33 per cent, while 53 per cent of the results were graded A* A or B.

Seaford College, which is a non-selective school and admits a high percentage of students with dyslexia or other learning support needs, was recently identified by the Government as one of the top 25 most improved schools in the UK for its A-level results.

Headmaster Toby Mullins said: “I am delighted that this year’s results show a continued upward trend, given that we strive to improve our academic results year upon year. We had some exceptional students this year and are delighted that the results show they were able to attain their full potential here at Seaford College.”
