Steyning school head is association’s new vice-chairman

STEYNING Grammar School’s head teacher, Nick Wergan, has been elected vice-chairman of the State Boarding Schools’ Association.

Representatives from many of the state boarding schools across the UK recently met for the State Boarding Schools’ Association’s annual general meeting, held at the boarding campus at the Steyning Grammar’s Church Street site.

Mr Wergan was formally elected vice-chairman and will occupy the role until 2018, when he will become chairman.

He said: “We are very proud of our boarding facilities, our superb boarding students and our committed boarding staff. Robin Fletcher, national director of the association, said: “Steyning Grammar School did an amazing job hosting this year’s AGM for the State Boarding Schools’ Association. It was stimulating seeing the impressive standards being set and to meet pupils and staff. Steyning Grammar School is a great example of a high-quality boarding school delivering excellent outcomes for students.”
