Tips on speaking in public

ANYONE worried about speaking in public has the chance to get help at Worthing Library.

On Saturday May 21, from 2-4pm, members of the Worthing Speakers Club will be at the library demonstrating the art of speaking in public, and offering information packs.

Anyone interested in becoming a more confident speaker can attend the two-hour free session to find out tips on how to speak in public.

Worthing Speakers Club, which has more than 200 members, is a non-profit making organisation aiming to bring the benefits of learning how to speak in public to a wider audience.

Deborah Urquhart, West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member with responsibility for the Library Service, said: “This is a chance for people to improve their communication skills in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with the help of expert public speakers.

“The Library Service hosts a series of events throughout the year, from author talks to live bands.”
