Top marks go to the Angmering School

STUDENTS at the Angmering School are celebrating some of the best GCSE results ever this morning (Thursday, August 23).

The teens have followed on from the school’s impressive A-level results, last week, with 63 percent gaining the benchmark of five A* to C grades, including English and maths – a four percent rise on last year’s figure.

This morning also saw 77 percent of students achieving a total of five A* to C grades, a six percent increase on 2011’s total.

Headteacher David Brixey, congratulated the successful students.

He said: “Yet again out students have made a step forward for the school.

“Our staff have set high expectations of the students and have used innovative ways to help achieve the children’s full potential.”

More detailed results from the other secondary schools in the Gazette’s patch – including those of The Littlehampton Academy – will be released, later this afternoon.
